Verizon says text messaging issue resolved

NEW YORK (WPVI) -- Verizon Wireless says an issue that caused a texting outage for East Coast customers has been resolved.

"We experienced an issue impacting texting services for some customers this morning. Our engineers were able to identify and resolve the issue quickly. Service was fully restored as of 9:00AM ET," Verizon Support tweeted.

No cause has been determined for the outage.
