Fire destroys Wawa truck in Delaware County

A fire destroyed a tractor-trailer at a Wawa distribution center in Middletown Township, Delaware County Saturday morning.

Fighters were called out around 5:00 a.m. to the 1300 block hundred block of West Baltimore Pike.

The truck was at the loading dock of the building when it caught fire.

Officials say the fire apparently started in the AC unit on the tractor and spread to the rest of the trailer destroying the trailer.

Fire crews had to ventilate the building but there was no damage to the property.

The fire was place under control within a half hour.
