Report of armed suspect prompts lockdown at West Philadelphia school

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A West Philadelphia school was placed on lockdown after a report of an armed suspect inside the school.

Police were called to the Rhoads James School at 49th and Parrish streets just before 3 p.m. Friday.

The lockdown was lifted shortly before 4 p.m.

Police did take a suspect into custody, but no word if that person was armed.

No word if anyone will be charged.

Police are investigating.
