A determined 6-year-old in Massachusetts is not letting his diagnosis keep him off the football field.

Matthew Davidopoulous scored a touchdown during his team's season opener despite being in a wheelchair.

His older brother, Noah, is the quarterback and handed him the ball on the first play of the game.

Born with spinal muscular atrophy, doctors told Matthew's parents he might not live past age two, but he continues to defy the odds.

"I almost wanted to cry..at six years old," said Matthew's coach, David Silton.

Matthew says he wants to keep playing football and he has new equipment to help.

A new motorized wheelchair arrived this week.
