WOODBURY HEIGHTS, N.J. (WPVI) -- Four children are recovering after being struck by a vehicle in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey.
It happened around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday along the 400 block of Chestnut Avenue.
Witnesses tell police the kids were playing on the block when a truck drove up and struck them.
"They were here on the street and they were playing and then I just heard a loud noise. My son came and told me that something bad had happened on the street," neighbor Linda Hess said.
The victims, two boys and two girls, ages 4, 8, 9, and 15, suffered a number of bumps and bruises. They were taken to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.
"I know all of these children and we're thankful they're going to be okay. That's the main thing. They are going to go out and play again and have fun," Hess said.
The driver ended up driving his truck into the brush on the side of the roadway, but was not injured in the mishap.
"He wasn't speeding, but cars do tend to speed up and down the street even though it's a dead end street," Hess said.
Hess said the driver was on the road to visit someone.
It is not yet known if charges will be filed.
