Trapped worker rescued from construction site in Wynnefield Heights

WYNNEFIELD HEIGHTS (WPVI) -- Firefighters have rescued a worker who became trapped at a construction site in the Wynnefield Heights section of Philadelphia.

It happened before noon Friday.

Action News is told a man working on a building at the Presidential City apartment complex fell into a trench and became trapped.

He was rescued a short time later by firefighters.

The worker was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

There was no immediate word on his condition, or what led to the mishap.
