Zip lines used to be just for the extreme adventurer.
In 2001, there were just 10 commercial zip lines. But in 2012, there were more than 200. There are 13,000 amateur ones in camps and even backyards.
But as their popularity has gone up so has the number of injuries.
A new study says over a 16-year period, more than 17,000 people went to emergency departments in the US with zip line related injuries.
About half of those hurt were 10 years old or younger and of them had broken bones from falls.
Many zip lines aren't regulated or subject to safety standards, but study leaders say they should be.
They called for uniform standards to keep people safer.
