Something new for Mother's Day

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - April 17, 2008

There's a computer chip embedded in the card, which allows the sender to record a 10-second personalized message.

Hallmark is focusing on GI moms who are serving overseas.

The company plans to travel to five U.S. military bases and allow the kids of soldiers to record greeting cards, which Hallmark will then mail overseas in time for Mother's Day and Father's Day.

The first visit was earlier this week at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

The cards sell for about six dollars each.
