Smelly check closes bank for an hour

NEW MILFORD, Conn. (AP) - April 28, 2008

A hazmat team was sent to a Bank of America branch in New Milford to check on reports of a bad odor.

It wasn't a chemical spill.

Officials say a man had machine oil on his hands that rubbed off on his paycheck, which he handed to drive-up teller.

Authorities allowed bank workers back into the building and branch was open for business again in about an hour.
