Reduce your "footprint" at the Zoo

PHILADELPHIA - May 7, 2008

A "carbon footprint" is one way to measure the impact you make on the environment; The larger your carbon footprint, the more resources you use.

Wednesday, the zoo launched a new program to offset greenhouse gas emissions by planting trees, which will soak up the carbon dioxide businesses and families put out when they use fossil fuels.

Some trees were planted at the zoo today. Others will go in Fairmount Park and a forest in Borneo.
