Storms knock out power to thousands locally

PHILADELPHIA - June 10, 2008

According to numbers released from local utilities just before 11:30 a.m., here is a listing of the outages:

• Montgomery County: 44,005
• Chester County: 19,195
• Bucks County: 4,250
• Philadelphia: 2,165
• Delaware County: 150
• PP&L: 1,702

Crews are working to make repairs as quickly as possible, but the work could take a day or more to complete.

According to wire reports, about 90,500 customers in northern New Jersey are without power. Those outages are in Passaic, Bergen, Hudson and Essex counties. There were roughly 150,000 reported in that region Tuesday night.
