Lottery winner survives lightning strike

BLANCHARD, Mich. (AP) - June 16, 2008

But her lucky day came the day before -- when she survived a lightning strike.

The 16-year-old was closing the windows in her home, when lightning came through and hit her.

BreAnna says she could see bolts of electricity shoot out of her fingers and into the light fixtures, knocking out power in the house.

BreAnna didn't want to go to the hospital, but her mother took her when BreAnna complained about tingling in her arms.

Doctors say she'll be ok, but needs therapy for damaged muscles.

Hospital workers said BreAnna must have been on a lucky streak, so her mother bought her a lottery ticket.

And the next day she won $20 dollars.
