Phillies Host Red Sox Again Tonight

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - June 17, 2008 The Phils wasted no time bouncing back from dropping the final two games of their weekend series in St. Louis. They took the opener last night, 8-2, for their ninth win in their last 11 home games.

Entering this series, Boston had won three straight meetings with the Phillies and 11 of their last 13.

Jamie Moyer will take the mound for the Phils tonight. The 45-year-old left-hander made 23 appearances with the Red Sox in 1996, but he's winless in eight starts against them as a Phillie.

Cole Hamels pitched seven strong innings to earn last night's win, and Ryan Howard went 3-for-5 with two homers and four RBIs.

Boston also sends a left-hander to the mound - Jon Lester. He's never faced the Phillies.
