WEB EXCLUSIVE: Soul beat Dragons

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - July 5, 2008 With 7 seconds left, the Soul trailed 48-43. D'Orazio dropped back and connected with Brackins on a crossing pattern. The receiver dashed toward the end zone and barely broke the goal line while two Dragons tried to bring him down. The play was reviewed by video replay and the touchdown stood.

"Both the line judge and the back judge told me that they had the runner scoring, breaking the plain in possession of the football," referee Bill Athan said. "Went to the replay monitor, told the replay official what the call on the field was and they gave me four, I believe four shots, four angles.

"There was no evidence that showed me that I can see that the runner had not scored and I could reverse what was called on the field."

The Soul will host the winner of Monday's game between Cleveland and Georgia in the conference championship game next weekend for a trip to the Arena Bowl in New Orleans on July 27.

New York quarterback Aaron Garcia hooked up with Kevin Swayne for five touchdowns. Garcia passed for 337 yards and Swayne had 14 catches for 166.

The Dragons scored 13 consecutive points in the final 5:30, but the Soul put together a four-play, 42-yard drive to win it.

D'Orazio threw six touchdown passes, four to Chris Jackson.
