Overnight house fire hurts 2

GLOUCESTER CITY, N.J. - July 22, 2008

Fire broke out just after 1 a.m. Tuesday in half of a twin in the 600 block of Powell Street in Gloucester City, New Jersey.

Firefighters called in a second and third alarm as flames shot into the air, and the scene was captured by an Action News viewer.

The residents of both sides of the twin escaped.

A 43-year old woman was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center for treatment of burns to her neck and smoke inhalation. A firefighter also suffered minor burns. He was treated at Cooper Medical Center and released.

The fire was declared under control around 3 a.m. Early indications from investigators show that the fire was started accidentally.
