The few remaining workers at the Blue Diamond Amusement Park near New Castle say about two dozen people still show up at the gate every day, unaware that the park is permanently closed.

After four summers in business, the owners decided not to reopen this season. Only the motocross and radio-control racing areas are still in operation.

The amusement park was billed as the home of Delaware's only permanent Ferris wheel.

Now the Ferris Wheel and the other rides are on the market. Ride technician Joe Osborne says potential buyers have come from across the country, Australia, the Netherlands and Mexico.
