Fort Dix suspects lose pretrial motions

CAMDEN, N.J. - Aug. 1, 2008 U.S. District Judge Robert Kugler says he'll allow references to Al Qaeda in court documents. The defendants wanted them removed fearing they might prejudice a jury.

Kugler says he can't strike the references because he finds them relevant to the government's case.

The judge has granted one concession by agreeing not to read the charging documents at the start of the trial, as he normally would.

The trial will also remain in New Jersey, despite a request to have it moved.

The five men were arrested in May 2007 and accused of the attack plot.
