School's in session in Limerick

LIMERICK, Pa. - August 25, 2008 The summer went by in a flash and the children who live in the Spring-Ford Area School District are among the first in the Delaware Valley to start their school year.

So, you'd think these youngsters are bummed out.

The truth is they're excited about the new school year.

Just ask the members of the fourth grade class at Limerick Elementary and they'll tell you 4th grade is way cooler than 3rd grade.

"Because my teacher, Ms. Williams, she's really, really nice, so I'm really excited about it," Samantha Casamento, 4th grader, said.

"We have a good gym teacher, good art teacher, a good music teacher, and a good librarian," Zachary Messerle, 4th grader, said.

Melissa Dougherty says her son is having the same experience because he graduated from kindergarten this past June.

"It was a very big deal. He has a friend who is going to be in kindergarten this year, so he felt he was going to be the big man on campus," Dougherty said.

So with all of these children saying how wonderful it is to be back in school here at Limerick Elementary we had to ask one of them "which is better summertime or school-time?'

He looked up and said, 'Are you being totally serious?'
