Police investigate Wilmington homicide

Police have released the identity of a man shot and killed in Wilmington.

Police say the victim, 34, was shot in the head and chest several times.

The victim is identified as 34 year old Rodrigo Monroy of the 1000 Blk. of W. 3rd Street in Wilmington.

Investigators say early reports are that a vehicle pulled up in front of the house where the victim was sitting on the front steps. Someone wearing a gray sweatshirt which he had covering his face got out of the car.

Several shots were fired and the car sped away east on W. 3rd Street.
