Church officials warn suspended priest

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) - January 14, 2009 Church officials say George Costigan was placed on administrative leave 15 years ago following sexual abuse allegations. He was never prosecuted.

The 82-year-old recently turned up at St. Matthew's parish in Randolph wearing clerical attire.

Paterson Roman Catholic Diocese attorney Ken Mullaney says police, schools, and priests have been notified.

Mullaney says Costigan has been warned he faces the possibility of losing his pension and medical benefits.
