A Pennsylvania man is behind bars after police say he punched his wife and grabbed her by the throat during a fight over their tax refund check. Police in Scranton say Miriam Rivera told them her husband, Ricardo Chavez Cintron, attacked her Sunday afternoon after she told him she needed $800 of the refund to buy a car.

Cintron told police he was supposed to keep $900 of the refund for himself, and his wife would not give him the money.

He is charged with assault and harassment, and was being held at Lackawanna County Prison.
