"Home Buyer's Supermarket" in Pa.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - March 5, 2009 - In the midst of the recession and housing slump, the eastern Pennsylvania city is planning to hold a Home Buyer's Supermarket next month.

Pawlowski says potential buyers will be able to view properties that are for sale and get credit counseling, help with title insurance and other services.

Free credit reports will also be available.

The Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors says it has an active listing of 730 residential properties in Allentown, and the average price is $115,000.

So far, at least 30 vendors have contacted the city about the event.

The event will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 25 at The Palace, located at 623 Hanover Avenue. Admission is free..
