Super senior sprinter

LUMBERTON, N.J. – March 9, 2009

She ran 60 meters in just under 27 seconds, she not only broke the record, and she shattered it by a whopping five seconds.

"Shattered it I was hoping to do that," Grace said.

When asked if she could do it again, her son Greg thinks she has a chance at a national competitionship in Maryland.

This was Grace's first race, but she's done a lot of running over the years. She raised 11 children on a working farm.

Nowadays she chases her grandson around and does a lot of stretching and walking to stay limber. Grace's son Greg is the one who prodded her onto the racetrack after all; he's the track coach at Camden High School.

"I give her the same tips I give my kids at Camden High School I just say relax, wait for the gun and pump your arms as fast as you can and keep going until you get to the line."

Grace exercises at least twice a day and eats a healthy diet. But, she does admit she also takes a performance enhancer. It's called water and plenty of it. Grace is happy with her new career and is hoping to inspire other seniors to get up and go.

"If I can do it they can do it I believe that."

Grace gives God all the credit, but she also kind of likes her new nickname, "Amazing Grace." And that she is.
