Delco house fire injures blind man

A blind man has been taken to the hospital, after getting injured during a house fire in Delaware County.

A blind man has been taken to the hospital, after getting injured during a house fire in Delaware County.

The fire broke out at about 4:15 Friday morning in a house on the 500 block of South Fourth Street in Colwyn.

When firefighters arrived they found powerful flames leaping out of the rear of a

second floor bedroom.

A few minutes later fire broke through the roof.

It took almost an hour to place the blaze under control.

The injured man is being treated for smoke inhalation at a local hospital.

Investigators are searching for the cause.
