Date set for inquiry into scallop boat sinking

CAPE MAY, N.J. (AP) - April 8, 2009 The Marine Board of Investigation will develop conclusions into what caused the /*Lady Mary*/ to sink and may also make recommendations to improve safety for commercial fishing vessels.

The Coast Guard says attempts to use remotely operated vehicles to survey the wreck were unsuccessful due to weather.

The board says it gained some valuable sonar information from the wreck site.

Only one member of the crew survived the sinking of the 71-foot boat off Cape May on March 24.
