Pregnant teen killed in school bus crash

DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. (AP) - April 15, 2009 Police say the car slid sideways on a rain-slick curve Tuesday afternoon on Route 282 in East Brandywine Township, 30 miles west of Philadelphia. Its passenger side struck the oncoming bus.

Officials say 17-year-old Nicolette Pomon and her unborn child were killed. Pomon was nine months pregnant.

The driver of the car, 18-year-old Megan Obendorfer,was taken to Reading Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

The school bus had no passengers. The driver, 38-year-old Steven Dilworth of Downingtown, was treated at Brandywine Hospital and released.
