Fewer post offices open late tonight

PHILADELPHIA - April 15, 2009 - But, this year, there are fewer post offices burning the midnight oil.

The 30th Street post office normally is open until 12:00 a.m., but this year it will only be open until 9:00 p.m.

The reason for the reduction in hours: More and more people are e-filling.

Still, employees were still standing outside in the rain, collecting those last-minute returns.

Here's a list of the post offices in the Delaware Valley that are staying open until midnight on this tax day:

In Pennsylvania, you can go to the Southeastern post office at 1000 West Valley Road in Philadelphia.

In South Jersey, go to 421 Benigno Boulevard in Bellmawr.

And in Delaware - take your return to the main office window in Hares Corner - that's at 147 Quigley Boulevard in New Castle.
