June 4, 2009 3:57:12 PM PDT
Jury deliberations are to resume Friday morning in the vehicular homicide trial of a New Jersey state trooper. Trooper Robert Higbee is accused of running a stop sign while pursuing a speeder and killing two sisters in a minivan.

The jury began deliberating at 4:15 p.m. Thursday and was excused for the day shortly afterward. Deliberations will resume Friday at 9 a.m.

The trooper is charged in the deaths of Jacqueline and Christina Becker in Cape May County's Upper Township in September 2006.

The jury must decide whether the trooper acted recklessly or whether the crash was a tragic but unavoidable accident.
