Woman hit by ambulance in Woodbine

WOODBINE, N.J. - July 13, 2009 Police say emergency crews were called out for a heart patient around 5:17 p.m. to 112 Dehirsch Avenue.

About five minutes later, an ambulance responding slid up to a lawn at 300 Dehirsch and hit a woman as she stood in her front yard.

Overnight, police identified the injured woman as Martha Perez.

She was flown from the scene by helicopter, treated for face and head wounds at the hospital, then released.

The ambulance was responding to a call at the time of the crash and came to rest near the front porch of the home.

New Jersey State Police are investigating.
