Man charged with shooting bartender

BUTLER, Pa. (AP) - January 6, 2009

Police say 22-year-old Joshua Rock, of Butler, shot 29-year-old Adam Christy, also of Butler, twice in the stomach as he was closing the Island Bar in Butler shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday. Police say Rock was drunk and refused to leave.

Christy was listed in critical condition at Allegheny General Hospital on Tuesday.

Rock was charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault after police found him in a church several hours after the shooting. He was being held in the Butler County Prison. Phone messages left at the prison to see if he has an attorney weren't returned.
