Del. panel approves $145K for abuse treatment

WILMINGTON, Del. - January 12, 2010

The group meets monthly, but Lt. Gov. Matt Denn, who is chair of the committee, tells The News Journal of Wilmington that a special meeting was called Monday because the issues needed to be dealt with sooner.

Dr. Earl Bradley has been charged with raping nine girls and prosecutors say there may be as many as 100 victims.

The Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families, says the money will be used to train trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapists to deal with school-age children and to add a clinician for in-home assessments of children. It will also be spent on monthly support meetings and serving affected members of Sussex County's Latino community.
