"When I first started,I felt like I was shop-lifting because I would go into a store and pay cents for things that were $30, $40, $50. But it isn't, it's legal," Ehret says. "It's defintiely addicting once you get started."
Now, Ehret has her own site, Cha-Ching on a Shoestring, where she shares all sorts of money saving tips.
She showed us a Maybelline mascara that she got for free, by combining coupons, a store discount and a rebate. And she also had a bag of groceries, including Gatorade, chips, tuna packets and more, that also didn't cost her any money out-of-pocket. She posts her stratgies, along with where to get the coupons and freebies on her blog.
And her money-saving tips have paid off in a couple of ways.
"I actually kept track of how much money we saved last year from coupons, and freebies and cutting costs and we saved over $5000," Ehret says.
"It's been really cool to be able to be in a situation where, even when money was tight for us, we were able to help others through the blog," she says.
