2 small earthquakes shake NJ town

FAR HILLS, N.J. (AP) - February 10, 2010

The Lamont-Doherty Cooperative Seismographic Network measured a 1.5 magnitude quake at 10:50 a.m. on Friday in Far Hills. There was a 1.2 magnitude quake at 2:52 a.m. on Sunday.

Police in the Somerset County community said they received calls from people hearing explosions and rumbles in the area of Lake and Pennbrook roads.

No damage was reported.

Far Hills is near the active Ramapo Fault that extends from southeastern New York to eastern Pennsylvania.
