Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway & Casino are expected to hire 750 people to fill a range of jobs, ranging from dealers to cocktail waiters, that will pay $35,000 to $40,000 plus tips.
About 150 people filed into a Dover Downs ballroom Monday for a shot at becoming a dealer when table games roll out in the spring. Harrington Raceway & Casino's job fair last week attracted about 500 applicants. Delaware Park and Dover Downs will continue to hold job fairs this week and next.
Dover Downs vice president and general manager of casino operations Pete Bradley says prospective dealers must complete training courses, audition for the job and pass background and criminal checks.
