At least 2 killed in Mullica Township crash

MULLICA TWP., N.J. - April 1, 2010

Law enforcement personnel are also seeking the assistance of anyone who may have witnessed the crash, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel announced today.

It is alleged that at about 10:20 p.m. last night, Christina Rivera, 29, was traveling on Route 30 in Mullica Township with Belinda Dillihay, 61, along with Dillihay's grandson who was sitting in the backseat, when a Jeep Wrangler struck Rivera's car head-on one mile from Elwood Road.

Rivera and Dillihay were pronounced dead at the scene. The child, whose name is not being released due to his age, is being treated at Cooper Memorial Hospital in Camden County, for broken legs and a broken arm.

A person located in the second vehicle, Ottoway Harrison, 29, of Egg Harbor City, was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities believe there may have been another occupant, possibly two, in the second vehicle who fled the scene, Prosecutor Housel stated.

Mullica Township Detective Sergeant John Thompson responded to the crash shortly after 10:20 p.m. last night. Upon arrival he located the victims and contacted the Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutor's Office Detective Kevin Hincks, Sgt. Chuck DeFebbo and Detective James Rosiello, responded to the scene and are conducting the investigation under the supervision of Lt. Bruce DeShields.

Atlantic County Medical Examiner Dr. Hydow Park performed autopsies on Rivera and Dillihay, of Atlantic City and determined that both women died of multiple internal injuries.
