McNabb to return to Philly in Week 4 with Redskins

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - April 21, 2010

The NFL announced its 2010 schedule Tuesday and the game Eagles fans were anticipating most will come during the fourth week of the season.

The quarterback, voted the greatest in Eagles history by fans for the team's 75th anniversary, was traded to Washington on Easter Sunday for a second-round pick in this week's draft and another pick in the 2011 draft.

While McNabb has said publicly he will treat the game like any other against a division opponent, emotions figure to run high on both sides at Lincoln Financial Field on Oct. 3.

McNabb and the Redskins will host the Eagles in the rematch Nov. 15 on Monday Night Football at FedEx Field.

The Monday night game against Washington is one of five prime-time games on the Eagles' schedule, but the only Monday night contest. Philadelphia will play three Sunday night games and once on Thursday night.

The Eagles will play a Sunday night game at San Francisco, the week after they host McNabb and the Redskins. Philadelphia will host the New York Giants on Sunday night Nov. 21, the week after the McNabb rematch.

In their third Sunday night game, the Eagles will travel to Dallas, the site of last year's playoff loss, on Dec. 12. The Thursday night game will be at home against the Houston Texans on Dec. 2.

Green Bay will open the season at Lincoln Financial Field. It will mark the 40th meeting between the teams and the eighth time Eagles coach Andy Reid will face the club that gave him his NFL start.

The Packers hold a 24-15 edge in the series, including an opening-day win in 2007 at Lambeau Field. The Packers, however, have not won in Philadelphia since Nov. 11, 1962, going 0-9 in the process. Reid is 5-2 against Green Bay.

Another interesting game on the schedule comes in Week 9, a week after the Eagles' bye. They will face the Indianapolis Colts.

Reid is 11-0 after bye weeks, but 0-3 against the Colts and has lost by a combined score of 124-51.

After the opener with Green Bay and the McNabb reunion game, the Eagles will spend two weeks on the road, at Detroit and at Jacksonville.

The trip to Jacksonville will be their first since they lost the 2005 Super Bowl to New England.

The Eagles will make their first trip to the Giants' new stadium in Week 15 on Dec. 19.

In all, the Eagles play five games against teams that made the playoffs last year (Dallas twice, Green Bay, Indianapolis and Minnesota).

"The schedule release is a day of great anticipation," Eagles president Joe Banner said. "I'm also happy that we are at home during the final two weeks of the season against Minnesota and Dallas.

"I think the NFL has done a great job in creating a fan-friendly scheduling process in recent years by having a plethora of division games toward the latter part of the season."
