Some rail riders on Metro-North in the New York City area were worried the railroad would ax the popular bar cars.
But Jim Cameron, chairman of the Connecticut Metro-North Rail Commuter Council, says officials have assured him the cars will stay on rush-hour trains.
Old cars are being replaced on Metro-North's New Haven line.
That line is the only one left in the nation that offers bar service during rush hour.
