Real Salt Lake extends home unbeaten streak to 13

SANDY, Utah (AP) - May 8, 2010

The victory extended RSL's regular-season home unbeaten streak to a team-record 13 games, while the Union lost their fourth straight - all on the road. The Union are playing 12 of their first 15 games of their inaugural season on the road, while they await the completion of their new stadium in suburban Chester, Pa.

RSL (3-3-1) made the most of its chances in the rare afternoon game, while the Union (1-5-0) did not create many.

Beckerman opened the scoring in the 27th minute, when he swooped in near the top of the box to steal a poor back pass and fired past diving Union goalkeeper Chris Seitz, the former RSL back-up who was playing his first game against his old team since being traded in the offseason.

Olave added his second goal in as many games in the 51st minute, easily tapping home the rebound when Seitz blocked but could not corral a free kick by RSL's Javier Morales. Saborio then snapped home a header on a cross from Pablo Campos in the 70th minute.

RSL's Robbie Findley left the game in the first half with a bruised back, potentially jeopardizing his chance to compete for a spot on the U.S. men's national team for the upcoming World Cup in South Africa. Coach Bob Bradley is expected to name his preliminary roster next week.
