Philadelphia officer injured in chain-reaction crash

FRANKFORD - May 11, 2010

It began as police were in the process of making an arrest at Frankford and Torresdale Avenues, in the city's Frankford section at 1:45 Tuesday morning.

Suddenly, the driver of a Ford Explorer smashed into a nearby parked car, sending that parked car into the police cruiser.

The cruiser then struck one of the officers. He was taken to Temple University Hospital in good condition with some bumps and bruises.

The driver that caused the accident is being investigated for possibly being under the influence at the time of the crash.
