Lottery beef splits sisters no longer speaking

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - May 13, 2010

But while the ruling ends the legal battle - it probably won't end the dispute between 87-year-old Rose Bakaysa and 84-year-old Theresa Sokatis.

They stopped speaking shortly after Bakaysa refused to share her lottery winnings with her younger sister.

And now, a judge in New Haven has ruled Bakaysa doesn't have to cut her sister in on the windfall.

The judge agreed with the older sister that the notarized contract they had to split all gambling profits ended - with a 2004 spat over a few hundred dollars.
