Autopsy planned for baby found dead in Ridley Twp.

RIDLEY TWP., Pa. - June 10, 2010

Police say they received a 911 call for an unresponsive infant at a home along the 2100 block of 6th Avenue.

There police found a 29 year old woman and her 6 month old son lying in a pool of blood.

Both were rushed by medics to Taylor Hospital in Ridley where the boy was pronounced dead.

The mother was later transferred to Crozer-Chester Medical Center where she listed is in critical condition. Police say she slashed her wrists.

Sources tell Action News that the mother was suffering from depression-type issues.

It's not known how the baby died. An autopsy will be performed Thursday on the child. Police say they are handling this as a homicide case.

Police say the grandmother was the one who called 911 and has been fully cooperative in the investigation.

She is also said be extremely distraught by the entire ordeal.
