Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi told a Pennsylvania Press Club audience Monday that making the deadline "depends solely upon the reasonableness of the governor."
He says the Senate will pass a general appropriations bill by the close of business Wednesday, whether or not the Democratic governor has agreed to it.
Pileggi says that as difficult as this year's budget process has been, next year's will be even more painful because of a projected multibillion-dollar deficit.
