Markea Golphin, 36, of the 8000 block of Mars Place is charged with attempted murder, assault and other crimes.
Ayisha Palmer, 37, of the 700 block of N. 41st Street, is also facing a number of charges including obstructing justice.
It happened at Scooter's Bar in the 3800 block of Lancaster Avenue in the Powelton section.
The lieutenant said he saw Golphin and Palmer fighting down the street and, when he tried to intervene, police say Golphin stabbed him in the back.
Palmer is accused of trying to hide the knife after the stabbing.
