Jar targeted again by thieves in Bucks County

WARMINSTER, Pa. - July 19, 2010

Donations meant for Christine McGhee have been stolen from a 7-11 store in Warminster, Bucks County for the second time since May.

The latest thief was caught on surveillance video early Sunday morning. Police hope someone recognizes the man.

McGhee suffered severe brain damage when she was hit by a pickup truck at Kutztown University in December of 2008. The donations help cover her medical costs.

Her father told us tonight, that he thinks the thief must have been pretty desperate: "Probably an unemployed person looking for a couple extra bucks. Or, you are a drug addict and you need easy money."

A woman called Action News Tuesday morning to say it was her son who was caught on tape stealing from the donation jar.

The woman says her son has now checked into rehab and is in contact with police. However, Warminster police would not confirm that information to Action News.

The two women who were caught on surveillance video taking McGhee's donations back in May, had a court appearance last Friday.
