China, Penn Museum resolve dispute over exhibit

PHILADELPHIA - February 11, 2011

The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology said Friday that the exhibit will open with a full complement of mummies and more. Some of the artifacts are more than 3,800 years old.

A pared-down exhibit opened last weekend after Chinese officials requested the items not be shown. The museum now says that decision has been reversed.

The current exhibit will close Sunday so many of the original displays can be installed. It will reopen Feb. 18 and run through March 15.
