President and General Manager of 6abc, Bernie Prazenica, says discussions about a 4pm newscast have been happening at WPVI-TV for the past few years, but the serious preparations for the program began last summer. Prazenica states, "We've been building to this date for almost a year now, and we're ready. This newscast will be everything you expect from Action News, but more interactive than ever before. And we've got an impressive anchor team to tie it all together. We're really excited to share this new Action News program with our viewers."
In addition to the breaking news and up-to-the-minute AccuWeather forecast, Action News at 4pm welcomes exciting new features unique to the hour, such as On The Red Carpet entertainment reports, Ask Action News and Facebook Flash. Familiar favorites like Saving with 6abc and The Business Report will round out the 60-minute rundown.
