But 20-year-old Stephanie Christine Phillips is eligible for a work-release program following her sentencing Friday in Montgomery County Court.
Phillips pleaded guilty in January to a felony charge of accidents involving death or personal injury in the death of 17-year-old Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School student Denise Cotteta.
Authorities say Phillips fled the scene after striking Cotteta near the school, where she had been celebrating the school's state basketball championship victory.
Cotteta's father says the family has forgiven Phillips, who will also donate $500 to a scholarship fund started in the teen's honor.
