Trenton pharmacy owner killed during robbery

TRENTON, N.J. - April 29, 2011

Medics tried to rush 54-year-old Arjun Dyapa Reddy to the hospital, but he was already dead.

"He was a very nice guy, wonderful guy," said Michelle Villalba, "He'd give you the shirt off his back. If you were out of medication he even gave you some to hold you over."

Police tell Action News that the gunman is still on the run after the homicide happened at about 6:30 Inside the Brunswick Pharmacy during what investigators are calling a pill robbery gone wrong. The Brunswick Pharmacy sits along the 700 block of Brunswick Avenue.

Police say Reddy was shot once in the chest by a man trying to rob him of prescription pills.

Police say they are looking for an 18- or 19-year-old black male with dreadlocks who was seen running from the scene. Anyone with information about the gunman's identity or whereabouts is being asked to call 911 in Trenton.
