The fatal incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. along the 7000 block of the Black Horse Pike in the West Atlantic City section of Egg Harbor Township.
According to the police report, a 1999 Chrysler Concorde operated by 79-year-old Joseph Pirollo was traveling east on the Black Horse Pike when his vehicle struck pedestrian that was crossing the road.
The pedestrian died at the scene. The identity of the victim is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
There is no word on if Pirollo will face charges. Police are continuing their investigation.
