Probation for prized cow killing, other Pa. crimes

SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) - November 30, 2011

The Daily American reports 20-year-old Graysen Randy Anderson, of Somerset, was sentenced Tuesday. He had pleaded guilty to felony agricultural vandalism and other charges in September.

Police say Anderson and two other men killed the prize-winning cow overnight June 25-26, 2010. Police say Anderson and the others butchered the Angus cross-breeding cow in a field at Wheeler Show Cattle in Somerset Township - and were slow-cooking the beef when troopers arrived at a home to question the men.

The newspaper says Anderson told the judge, "I know that I messed up in all the things I did."
